orbgem

For journals, recipes, trips and lists

One notebook for everything at home.

Keep a journal one line at a time, recipes with their servings and times, plans for a trip and the lists that go with it. Orbgem links each line to what you already wrote, so last spring's garden notes are there when you need them.

Solo is free. A vault started here begins with Sourdough, a recipe template, a Sunday bake and some bread notes to tidy.

Features

Built for the days in between

Nothing to file and no folder to pick. Write it down, and it is there next time, linked to everything it mentioned.

  • A journal, one line at a time

Every line you capture lands at the top of today's daily note, with its time. Bold or highlight the ones that matter, and Collect gathers them later.

  • Recipes with their fields

A recipe template gives each new recipe its servings and time as a small form at the top of the note, so every recipe reads the same.

  • Lists and tasks

A line that starts with - [ ] is a task, in any note. Tasks in the rail lists every open one in the vault; tick it there and it is ticked in its note.

  • Boards for planning

Lay out a trip or a garden on a canvas board: notes, text cards and links, arranged by hand on an infinite board.

  • On your phone

Orbgem runs in your phone's browser. The places become a bar at the bottom, and today's note opens with its capture box at the top.

  • Invitations you fill in

A block with a placeholder like <DAY> renders a field. Copy gives you the finished message to send.

Write down the next thing

Create a vault and write one line about your day. It will be linked and findable before you have decided where it belongs.
